2011.04.08 :: Party My parents 60th wedding anniversary tomorrow. We will be lunching at Mon Village with Geneviève and Carl, Frances, Pascal, Matthew and Marissa, Mom & Dad, myself and Guy. 2010.08.09 :: Pyper was Born Today As my hubbie and I are dog lovers, we will have another golden... and our next puppy will be named Pyper (named after bagpipe music players). We should go and get him for October 1st, 2010. 2010.07.11 :: Gimli's Death My little Gimli has cancer and he has died -- he was only 5 years old. The best dog that we ever had...he touched us all. 2008.05.14 :: Gimli's Birthday & Marie-Ange's Death For the past two days I have been spending my time reading on the fine subjects of interdisciplinarity and epistemology -- yes you have guessed it, I am a teacher. A longer explanation requires that I go back in time... Driving home on one of these incredibly beautiful sunny days, I happened to be driving by Cégep John Abbott College, near Montreal. Being a former John Abbott (JAC) student, I daydreamed of those days gone by and at that moment I knew that I would work there someday... as this was meant to be. Canadian graphic artist, typographer, calligrapher, illustrator and teacher at Cégep John Abbott College. As someone whose academic beginnings focused on music, health sciences and graphic arts, I was fortunate enough to work for 20 years with the most open-hearted and talented individuals in typography and graphic design, as my parents were photographers and commercial printers, thus giving me the chance to meet this circle of talented people. I first taught in the public system and then joined John Abbott College to teach Computer Graphic Design, known as PDHT (Publication Design & Hypermedia Technology). I obtained my Graphic Arts degree in 1983 and then followed with a Bachelors degree in Education from the University of Sherbrooke, followed by a Masters degree in Education. I also practice and teach Taoist Tai Chi and know four different forms, Tai Chi, Sabre, Sword and Lok Hup Ba Fa. Tai Chi is a discipline and an art form that stems and emanates throughout the body, the heart and the mind. |
